## Summary - Refactored comparison type inference functions in `infer.rs`: Changed the return type from `Option` to `Result` to lay the groundwork for providing more detailed diagnostics. - Updated diagnostic messages. Markdown files within the mdtest/ subdirectory are tests of type inference and type checking;
executed by the tests/mdtest.rs integration test.
